More About Reiki

This course offers a grounded introduction to Reiki as a supportive, non-invasive practice centered on presence, nervous system regulation, and ethical use. Students learn the fundamentals of Reiki and how it can complement existing care without replacing veterinary or medical treatment. Reiki is accessible to everyone and does not require prior experience, special skills, or a specific background. All Reiki attunements are included. Certification is included for Level One and Level Two once the required coursework is completed. Master-level certification is optional for those who choose to continue into advanced study and is offered at no additional cost. Students are welcome to move through the course at their own pace. The material is designed to be applied thoughtfully, responsibly, and with respect for both the practitioner and those receiving support.

Meet Your Instructor

Chloe Johnson is an equine bit fitter, bodyworker, and Reiki practitioner who believes good energy work starts with listening. She has completed three Reiki training programs and blends biomechanics, nervous system regulation, and intuitive energy healing to support balance, presence, and connection for horses and the people who work with them. Reiki has been a meaningful part of her own life and work, shaping the way she approaches care with intention, respect, and patience.

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is often described as a gentle, hands-on or distance-based practice that supports relaxation, balance, and connection. At its core, Reiki is about presence. It invites the body and nervous system into a state where settling and self-regulation can occur. From a more intuitive or energetic perspective, Reiki is understood as working with universal life energy, the subtle current that connects all living things. Many people experience Reiki as warmth, tingling, deep calm, or a sense of being held. Animals, especially horses, often respond through softening, sighing, yawning, or simply choosing to rest. From a grounded perspective, Reiki creates conditions that support nervous system regulation. Gentle touch, stillness, and focused attention can signal safety to the body, shifting it out of a stress response and into a state where rest, digestion, and recovery are more available. This is one reason Reiki can feel so calming even for those who do not consider themselves spiritual. Reiki does not require belief to be effective. You do not need to visualize energy, feel sensations, or interpret experiences for it to “work.” Reiki is offered, not forced, and the body or animal responds in its own way. For some, Reiki feels quietly practical. For others, it feels deeply magical. Often, it is both. Reiki sits in the space between science and intuition, offering support without demand, structure without rigidity, and care without control.
